Biography - Shakira Om Mia
Shakira Om Mia started belly dancing in Northern California with Leea Aziz in 1991 and began her professional dance career at the famous El Morocco Restaurant. She moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1995, appearing regularly at some of Portland's finest Middle Eastern and Greek restaurants. Shakira also trained under Aziza in Portland (now Montreal) and was a member of Aziza's award-winning trio Banat El Fez.
